Candace Bushnell has just released her new book The Carrie Diaries, a teen prequel (prepare yourself for much high school angst) to her famous franchise. You can brush up on Carrie Bradshaw’s past as a regular girl growing up in the suburbs of Connecticut.

Set during Carrie Bradshaw's senior year of high school year, the book details the budding fashionista's early relationships and how she began her career as a writer. The Carrie Diaries also focuses on Bradshaw's first love (gasp… there was someone before Mr Big?), her family background, how she found her writing voice, and the indelible impression her early friendships and relationships left on her.

We'll see what brings Carrie to her beloved New York City, where the next Carrie Diaries book will take place…. We know what we’ll all be doing this weekend!
